Building technology is the study of the various stages involved in the construction of building.
Here at Bedeku Technical Institute, training of our students in various stage begins right from acquisition of the land on which the project is to be sited, sending of the working drawing for approval at the district works department to check whether the location of the building does not encroach government property etc.

After the approval the project is awarded to a certified contractor to commence work on the land by clearing of the bushes either by hand machine then after, setting -out to position where the building will be sited on the piece of the land.
After that excavation or digging work starts to the required depth as recommended by the architect then followed by foundation concrete which receives the entire load of the building and transmits it to the natural foundation below it.
Then followed by laying of footing work which must not be below 150mm above ground level. Filling work and casting of oversite concrete also follow.
The next step is the laying of the super structure to Lintel level then concrete is cast across all openings in the wall after which three or more courses of block work is laid on top of the Lintel concrete then roofing takes over.
When roofing is done, internal and external finishes such plastering, rendering , cladding, floor screen, tilling work etc are done then painting is final done to accommodate persons in.
